Italian designer has to be making some of the most beautiful infographics around at the moment.
As Art Director for IL Magazine, the lifestyle supplement to Italy's answer to the FT, Franchi has created an eye popping array of bold, complex, and beguiling designs.
Each spread conforms to a tight set of design rules- Swiss style grid, limited fonts and colour palette, yet the mass of information is overwhelming. Good info graphics should make the complex simple, and Francesco Franzi's definitely don't do this. The very best info graphics, however, turn data into stories and that's where these triumph.
The fun, particularly as a non Italian speaker, is in the exploration, being pulled in by the gorgeous graphics and trying to unravel their meaning.
Can anyone help me decipher these?
