Makers of hand printed illustrations, Chloe Langlois and David Newton (AKA Fancy and Fondant), awarded prizes for the best lino prints at the second part of a Kitcatt Nohr Digitas printmaking workshop last night.

In the first part of the workshop, which took place at Kitcatt Nohr Digitas’ St John Street offices on Wednesday 13th April, Chloe and David demonstrated how to make your own lino cut print. Attendees were each given a piece of lino and encouraged to go home and create their own design. Last night, attendees brought their lino designs along and, with David and Chloe’s help, printed them out in a variety of colours.

One all designs had been printed, Chloe and David chose their first, second and third favourite prints. Head of Planning David Yates came first with a print of a bee created for his daughter Beatrice. Head of Marketing Julia Conroy took second place with her “Lino Ritchie” print. And Senior Planner Sara Cohen was awarded third place for her intricate floral design.

All three winners received an original framed print of a rosette by Fancy and Fondant.

Fancy and Fondant produce whimsical limited edition prints. They specialise in traditional printmaking techniques including screen printing, etching, lino cuts and stone lithography. All their original illustrations are hand drawn, cut and printed - with no digital input.

Both Chloe and David graduated in 2003; Chloe from Chelsea College of Art and Design with a BA in Fine Art - Painting; David from the University of Hertfordshire with a BA in Lens and Digital Art. During the past 3 years they've become increasingly immersed in the printmaking process through a mutual love of the raw printmaking process - Printing at SNAP studio: Bristol, Print Club: Dalston, London Print Studio and Leicester Print Workshop.
