Kitcatt Nohr is to host Translocation, a collection of unique and intriguing photographs by one of Campaign's Top Ten Photographers of 2010, George Logan.

Kitcatt Nohr will hold a private view of the work on the evening of Wednesday March 9th at our offices.

With warmth and humour, these poignant images bring together Scotland’s dramatic landscape with the beauty and fragility of Africa’s wildlife.

The collection of photographs were over five years in the making, with Logan traveling extensively throughout Africa to capture wild animals in their natural habitats, covering Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and even Europe. The landscape shots were closer to home, taking in the photographer’s homeland of Scotland and the wild coastlines of Cornwall. To complete the collection, George’s journey took him from places as diverse as the Isle of Skye to the Okavango Delta, from Ardnamurchan to the Kalahari Desert.

Inevitably this is a personal and heartfelt body of work, George said, “As a boy I’d tell tall tales to classmates and claim that I’d been raised on an African farm, surrounded by all sorts of exotic wildlife. It had me imagining how these creatures would appear in the rural Scottish landscapes I was familiar with. This project has allowed me to explore those early fantasies.”

The photographs have received many accolades, including Gold at The Association of Photographers Awards. The body of work has also generated PR coverage in diverse titles including The Sun, National Geographic, Esquire, Creative Review and Design Week.

Translocation is a collaboration between George Logan, the Born Free Foundation, and Hewlett Packard Indigo.

To attend the private view on the evening of Wednesday March 9th, please .
